Your And You Re Understand The Difference
Your and You’re - Understand the Difference
Feb 2, 2021 / English / 1 mins read

Confusing "your" and "you're" can create funny situations.

Even though the two words are very similar, they have totally different meanings. Check out how to use them:

✅ “Your” is used to indicate possession.

Examples:

- Is this your umbrella?

- I like your coat. Is it warm?

✅ “You’re” is the abbreviation for "you are", which is the conjugation of the verb to be for the pronoun you.

Examples:

- You're a very special person.

- Congratulations! You're the winner of the raffle.

A tip to help you not to confuse these words is always to check if you’re able to be replaced with you are. If so, the sentence makes sense.
