Discover some interesting facts about Poland:

 

The name "Poland" derives from the Lechitic tribe of Polans (Polanie), who inhabited the present-day Greater Poland region starting in the mid-6th century. This name “Polanie” derives from the Old Slavic word “pole” meaning "field" or "plain".

 

- Tatra National Park is a mountain range in southern Poland that attracts many visitors. The park borders Slovakia and its highest peak, Rysy, is the highest peak in Poland at 2499 meters.

- Oscypek is a traditional, decorative smoked cheese made from sheep's milk. Have you ever tasted this cheese?

 

- Pope John Paul II was Polish. He was born in the city of Wadowice.
