How To Use The Verb Answer
How To Use The Verb "Answer"
Nov 14, 2021 / English / 1 mins read

The verb “to attend” can confuse native Portuguese speakers because in Portuguese the verb ‘atender’ means to answer in the context of answering a phone call.

Ex: Atendi uma ligação para o sr. Roberto hoje de manhã. (I answered a call from Mr. Roberto this morning.)

➡ If the phone rings in English, you answer , you do not attend the phone.
