✔ Allergy

High body temperature.

Ex: I woke up with a fever this morning.

 

✔ Vein

Where the blood of our body is transported.

Ex: The patient was taken directly to the ICU.

This term is used when a doctor wants to ask the opinion of a second professional about a serious diagnosis.

Ex: I asked the dermatologist for a second opinion on the case.

 

✔ Poison / Poisonous

Dangerous Substance.

Ex: The child felt sick after ingesting a poisonous plant.

 

✔ Prescription

It is the prescription that allows the use of medicines and is given by the doctor.

Ex: This medicine is only sold under medical prescription.

 

✔ X-ray

Also known as x-ray, it is an examination with internal photograph of the body.

Ex: An x-ray was taken to check if the bone is broken.

 

✔ Therapy

An ongoing care to treat something.

Ex: I will send you to physical therapy for your broken leg.

General examinations to check the health situation.

Ex: Let's do a routine check up.

✔ Does it hurt if (I push there)? = To check if a part of the body hurts.

 

✔ Can I feel your (shoulder)? = Request to examine the patient.

 

✔ What symptoms do you have? = To verify what the patient is feeling physically and emotionally.

✔ Do you have any medicine for (a headache)? = Useful question to ask the pharmacist when buying an over-the-counter drug.

 

✔ Can I make an appointment to see (a doctor / nurse)? = Used to schedule a medical appointment.

 

✔ Does this medicine cause any side effects? = To know if the drug causes some unwanted reaction.

 

✔ What dosage of I take? = For information on the quantity and frequency of consumption of a medicinal product.
