Pronouns are words we use in the place of a noun, for example we can use a pronoun in the place of a name (She and Sarah).
We can use subject, object and possessive pronouns:
➡ A subject pronoun is the subject of a verb:
- I go to school.
- He is tall.
- They like football.
➡ An object pronoun is the object of a verb or follows a preposition:
- Can you help me? (Verb)
- You don’t know him. (Verb)
- I meet her everyday. (Verb)
- Can you wait for me? (Preposition)
- Give this to him. (Preposition)
- Can you look at them for me? (Preposition)
➡ A possessive pronoun shows possession.
We use possessive adjectives to describe nouns:
- This is my book.
- This book is mine.
➡ We use reflexive pronouns to refer back to the subject.
