A phrasal verb is a verb + one or more prepositions or an adverb that results in a different meaning from the meaning of the original root verb. Learn some common phrasal verbs with look in today's lesson:


 

✅ Look after: to take care of, to make sure that someone is safe and well.

 

✅ Look away: to turn your eyes away from something or someone.

 

✅ Look for: to search for/try to find something or someone.

 

✅ Look into: to investigate/find out more about something.

 

✅ Look out: to be careful, avoid danger.

 

✅ Look through: to examine something in detail.

 

✅ Look up: to search for information.

 

✅ Look up to: to respect or admire someone.
