Do you like history? If so you will really enjoy today’s post. We will be sharing some interesting facts about Ancient Egypt.

- Do you know why pyramids were built? Most of them were intended to serve as tombs for rulers (pharaohs) and family members.

 

- The Ancient Egyptians believed in the afterlife and when preserving bodies, they believed that souls would be eternal. This required the mummification process.


 

-The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex bordering present-day Giza in Greater Cairo. It is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain largely intact.

 

- Cats were considered sacred animals and creatures that brought good luck.

 

- According to Egyptian mythology, the gods could transform into animals and the goddess Bastet had the power to transform into a cat.

 

- Ancient Egyptian writing consisted of characters called hieroglyphs - more than 700 of them!
