Travel Vocabulary How To Describe Places In English
Travel Vocabulary: How To Describe Places in English
1 de dez. de 2020 / Inglês / 1 minutos lidos

When you travel it is important to know how to describe places. In today's lesson you will learn how to describe them using adjectives and superlatives.

The following are adjectives which can be used to describe places.

NOTE. We use some of these adjectives for people or things as well.

Examples:

- I have heard that Los Angeles is a very dangerous city. (place)

- Swimming at night is very dangerous. (activity)

- Small children are dangerous. (person)

- The center of Nashville is very loud. (place)

- That stereo is very loud. (thing)

- My sister is extremely loud. (person)

We use some of them only for places.

Examples:

A city is polluted, but a person is dirty or untidy.

In the past few years, our city has become very polluted.

Our dog has been in the rain. He is very dirty.

My sister never cleans her room. She is very untidy.

In general, for words with one or two syllables we use the -est ending. In general, for words with three or more syllables and words which end in -ed, -ing, and -ful we use most / least.

Let’s practice!

(Write your answers in the comments section)

Using the words, write superlative sentences with ever in the present perfect.

Ex: It / most interesting film / I / watch

➡ It is the most interesting film I have ever watched.

1) Santiago / most polluted city / I / visit

2) Ibiza / most beautiful place / I / see

3) This / most expensive cake / I / buy

______________________________________________

4) This / least stressful vacation / we / do

5) What / most crowded bus / you / take
