1 Sept 2021 / Engelsk / 1 minutter lest

A phrasal verb is a verb + one or more prepositions or an adverb that results in a

different meaning from the meaning of the original root verb.

Phrasal verbs are incredibly common in English and are very useful in both written and oral

communication. Because of this, we need to understand how to use phrasal verbs in order to

understand and speak natural English in a fluent and comfortable way. Phrasal verbs can be

quite challenging because there are many phrasal verbs that look very similar to the root verb

alone, but have completely different and often unpredictable meanings.
