Although the words "song" and "music" are both related to listening to a melody, they have different uses. And since we use these words very often, it is important to know how to use them correctly.



 

✅ Song

 

A countable noun (plural = songs), used to talk about a specific piece of music.

 

Examples: 

- I think that this song by the Beatles is amazing.

- What is your favorite song?



 

✅ Music

 

An uncountable noun we use to talk about music in general or about a musical style.

 

Examples: 

- I love listening to music on my way to work.

- His favorite type of music is jazz.


 

➡ How many musics are there in this album? - INCORRECT ❌

 

➡ How many songs are there in this album? - CORRECT ☑
