Harajuku (原宿) refers to the area around Tokyo's Harajuku Station, which is between Shinjuku and Shibuya on the Yamanote Line. Harajuku is a fashion capital, known for its bright colors. It is where Japan's kawaii culture began and continues to thrive. 

 

Today's lesson will boost your knowledge of vocabulary about clothing and accessories in Japanese. What do you like to wear? What is your favorite piece of clothing?


 

➡ 衣服 / いふく (ifuku) = clothes

 

➡ 帽子 /  ぼうし (boushi)  = hat

 

➡  靴 / くつ (kutsu) = shoes

 

➡  ティーシャツ /  てぃーしゃつ (t-shatsu) = t-shirt 

 

➡ ズボン /  ずぼん (zubon) = pants

 

➡ ブーツ (būtsu) = boots 

 

➡ 下着 / したぎ (shitagi) = underwear

 

➡ ビキニ (bikini) = bikini

 

➡ レイン コート (rein kōto) = raincoat

 

➡ マフラー (mafurā) = scarf

 

➡ イヤリング (iyaringu) = earrings

 

➡ セーター (sētā) = sweater

 

➡ 指輪 (yubiwa) = ring

 

➡ ネックレス (nekkuresu) = necklace
