Do you know how many languages are spoken in Turkey?
29. Juni 2021 / Englisch / 2 Minuten lesen

Have you ever traveled to or do you plan to visit Turkey?

In today's lesson you will learn some fun facts about this country:

- Do you know which city is the capital of Turkey? It is Ankara (although it is a common assumption that it is Istanbul).

- Göreme National Park, in Cappadocia, is recognized as a world heritage site by Unesco. The unique formations displayed in this photo are called Fairy Chimneys, a nickname associated with the "magical" landscape. The park includes 3 cities: Avanos, Nevşehir and Ürgüp. Within the park you can find underground cities, villages and shrines that contain important examples of Byzantine art.

- Hot balloon rides are very popular in the Cappadocia region, which is an incredible way to see its natural beauty from all angles. Have you ever flown in a balloon?

- Renowned and world-famous Turkish coffee is traditionally made with fine grains and a long-chain pan called cezve. It is prepared with foam on top.

- Turkey is a major producer of grapes. While visiting, you can go on tours at wineries and wine tasting is also a popular tourist activity.
